Route: Otter Cliff Road, Park Loop Road, Gorham Mountain Trail

Back up plan for a sunrise hike, since the road closures made Cadillac a bit out of reach.

Park Loop Road was rather icy, but I was able to boot it with caution.

Gorham Mountain Trail had lots areas of black ice, exposed ledge, and snow. Microspikes would probably be okay, but I didn't put them on due to the ledge still exposed in places. Trail is also difficult to follow with snow on the ground, as it's blazed/marked for summer use.

Directions to trailhead: In winter, from Bar Harbor, take Route 3 south, then take a left onto Otter Cliff Road. Otter Cliff Road is generally plowed to Park Loop Road (closed in winter). There is a parking lot on the right, just prior to reaching Park Loop Road. Continue on foot to Park Loop Road, taking a left and heading north to the Gorham Mountain Trail parking lot and trailhead.
