Open woods on the way up Barber Mountain
Route: Logging roads, bushwhacks
We hopped into the woods not too far from the quasi-four way junction and ascended to the Barber ledges from the west in mostly open woods.
We then dropped into the col, favoring the north side, thankfully without much prickers or brush due to the time of year. We found some older roads en route to Melvin. Excellent directional views from the cut over summit area.
