About

Great Hill
Tamworth, NH

Trailheads, measurements, times, distances, and maps are all approximate and relative to the hike(s) as shown below.

The trail near the Great Hill summit

After just about two weeks completely off from hiking, it was time again to test the bum knee - just about a month to the day that I may have injured it. What better place to start off than Great Hill?

We made pretty good time to the summit - it was good to finally be out on some sort of a hike! The views from the ledge next to the tower are now not that great due to the foliage, however the views from the top of the tower are still just about as strong as ever.

The descent went well at first - I didn't even think about the knee until just about half way down...however at that point, it started to get increasingly lame. This was my first hike without a knee brace in a few weeks too, so it's possible that had something to do with it. Nonetheless, we shall see...the next step will be something in the 500' vertical range.
