Tamworth, NH Trailheads, measurements, times, distances, and maps are all approximate and relative to the hike(s) as shown below. ![]() Looking up the trail to Great Hill I ended up doing the second half of the hike without my headlamp, as the remaining moonlight was more than enough to illuminate the trail. Since the trail is groomed regularly, I was able to bareboot the entire hike. Arriving at the summit tower, I could see that there was still a bit more to go before the moon was going to be covered. The lights at Cranmore were particularly neat to look at, as it looked like a set of random lights leading into the sky. I hung out in the fire tower for about 45 minutes with my camera set up on a clamp. While it would have been nice have witnessed the entire eclipse, the winds started to pick up a bit and I was getting cold (and impatient). Nonetheless, it was a nice thing to witness.
