Looking up the trail to Great Hill With a brief break in the otherwise dreary weather, I decided to head up to Great Hill for a brief jog. Arriving at an empty parking area, I quickly set off. After maybe a minute, my bad knee reminded me it wasn't anywhere near full strength. Not wanting to do any further damage, I immediately slowed down to a normal hiking pace. While at this pace, I encountered what I think was my first deerfly of the season. Though cloudy and a bit hazy, the views from the firetower were nonetheless strong. I was able to jog lightly back without feeling it in the knee.
