Lincoln, NH Trailheads, measurements, times, distances, and maps are all approximate and relative to the hike(s) as shown below. ![]() Looking up the Franconia Ridge Trail near Mt. Liberty Despite a cold, windy start, it looked to be a nice day to be on the Franconia Ridge. Walking down the bike path, we followed an old trail up to the Liberty Spring Trail - very little snow to be found until reaching the water crossings. Shortly after the upper crossing, I donned my snowshoes. Reaching the alpine zone, the winds weren't too harsh - the skies were mostly clear and the ambient temperatures nice. The next stop was Mt. Flume. The Franconia Ridge Trail was in good shape between the peaks. By the time we reached Mt. Flume, the winds had pretty much ceased, resulting in a nice extended spring stay.
