Route: Mt. Morgan Trail, Crawford-Ridgepole Trail, Mt. Percival Trail, Morse Trail

Having never hiked Morgan-Percival with blue sky and blue lake views, I opted to head over on a nice Friday afternoon.

Not a big fan of the logged lower elevations, I took advantage of my light pack and jogged the flats. Climbing up to Morgan, I opted to take the cave bypass.

The views from the highpoint, as well as from the lake vista, were tremendous. The bugs fortunately weren't too bad, so I was able to enjoy the scenery for awhile.

The next stop was of course Mt. Percival. I had forgotten how rugged and fun the Crawford-Ridgepole Trail was between them - neat little scrambles and viewpoints. Reaching Mt. Percival, I once again had super views with a deep blue lake under a deep blue sky. Unfortunately, the black flies didn't want me to loiter for too long.

Having never been on the Percival caves spur, I descended from the ledges (no sign - just some blazes) to a rocky area, then through the tight cave - probably a better idea for ascending (and of course in dry conditions). Nonetheless, quite fun!

Upon hitting the flats, I jogged most of the way back to the trailhead, as to avoid the mosquitoes who were trying to greet me.
