Lancaster, NH Trailheads, measurements, times, distances, and maps are all approximate and relative to the hike(s) as shown below. ![]() Looking up the power line cut Realizing I had enough time for a second quick hike prior to the lost ski area discussion at the summit of Prospect Mountain, I parked in the lot across US 3 and headed up the auto road on foot. Sick of walking on pavement, I noticed the power line cut had recently been brushed. Thus, I climbed up the steep cut and was soon at the summit. The views from the summit area were great, but even better from the fire tower. Though the Presidentials were in the clouds, there was plenty else to see, including a unique view of the Kilkenny area. Since the powerline cut was a bit rough for descent, I choose to do a fast roadwalk back. Reaching the parking lot, I then hopped in my vehicle and drove back to the summit for the ski area presentation and subsequent sunset.
