The Long Pond Trail
The Long Pond Trail

Route: Long Pond Trail

After seeing it and its firetower from Wheeler Mountain, I decided to head to Bald Mountain for the second hike of the day. Starting on a series of grassy roads, the trail eventually turned off into the woods and became a bit muddy. After some slabbing, the trail became rough, climbing steeply up to the summit. While I didn't see much in way of views from the summit, I didn't look around for too long for any vistas. Rather, I climbed up the firetower, from where I had excellent views in all directions.
