Long Trail to Worth Mountain summit
The hike up to the summit of the Middlebury College Snow Bowl Ski Area from Middlebury Gap is a nice one. Beyond that, however, is an increasing waste of time.
I had seen a photo labelled as Worth Mountain somewhere - which showed a nice view. This couldn't be further from the truth. With the exception of one look out - closer to the ski area summit and a few hundred vertical feet below the actual summit - there is no view. Add to that a very muddy trail, and you'll figure out why I kept muttering 'Worthless Mountain' for the rest of the hike.
