"Summit" photos may in fact not be at the actual summit - but instead at the best nearby vista. Long Trail to Worth Mountain summit The hike up to the summit of the Middlebury College Snow Bowl Ski Area from Middlebury Gap is a nice one. Beyond that, however, is an increasing waste of time. I had seen a photo labelled as Worth Mountain somewhere - which showed a nice view. This couldn't be further from the truth. With the exception of one look out - closer to the ski area summit and a few hundred vertical feet below the actual summit - there is no view. Add to that a very muddy trail, and you'll figure out why I kept muttering 'Worthless Mountain' for the rest of the hike.
