1931 AMC White Mountain Guide
Dartmouth Trail. (U.S.F.S.)
This trail starts from Cherry Mt. Road, about ¼ m. S. of the height-of-land, 4 ¾ m. S. of Jefferson Station and 3 ½ m. N. of the site of the White Mountain House, the junction being marked by a sign. It is in excellent condition, and skirts the N. slopes of the Dartmouth Range, through fine woods. Its E. terminus is at the Jefferson Notch Road, about ½ m. S. of the Israel Ridge Ranger Station (U.S.F.S.), 2 5/8 m. from the lower main highway in Jefferson and 10 m. from Crawford’s. Its length is about 6 m.

This Trail starts from Cherry Mt. Road, about ¼ m. S. of the height-of-land, 4 ¾ m. S. of Jefferson R.R. station and 3 ½ m. N. of the site of the White Mountain House. It skirts the N. side of the Dartmouth Range, through fine woods. In 4 ¾ m. it crosses the Deception Trail (infra) and, ¾ m. beyond, ends at the Jefferson Notch Road, about ½ m. S. of the Israel River Ranger Station, 2 5/8 m. from the lower main highway in Jefferson and 10 m. from Crawford’s. Distance. 5 ½ m. (3 hrs. 30 min.).

Dartmouth Trail (WMNF)
This trail starts from Cherry Mt. Road, about ¼ m. S of the height-of-land, 4 ¾ m. S of Jefferson RR station and 3 ½ m. N of the site of the White Mountain House. It skirts the N side of the Dartmouth Range, through fine woods. At 2.1 m. the Mill Brook Trail enters from L and in 4 ¾ m. it crosses the Deception Trail (infra). It ends at the Jefferson Notch Road, about ½ m. S of the Israel River Guard Station. It is closed E of the Deception Trail.
Distance. 5 ½ m. (3 hrs. 30 min.).
