Deer Mountain Trail
State: NH
Located northeast of York Pond in the Kilkenny region, Deer Mountain was home to a forest fire lookout tower in the 1940s. The Deer Mountain Trail was likely built, and subsequently abandoned, due to the construction and later removal of the tower.

Deer Mountain (2,770 ft.)
NNE of York Pond. Firetower. The Deer Mountain Trail (WMNF) leaves the Mill Brook Trail about 0.1 m. N of the Fish Hatchery at York Pond and climbs gradually NE to the summit. Thence it descends N to Fogg Brook, where it swings E and follows down the S bank, crossing to the N just before meeting the West Milan Trail a short mile N of the Kilkenny Road. York Pond to summit 1.6 m. (1 hr. 20 min.); West Milan Trail 4.5 m. (2 hrs. 40 min.).

NNE of York Pond. The former trail, which left the Mill Brook Trail about 0.1 m. N of the Fish Hatchery at York Pond, has been abandoned.
