Looking up the rockslide on Cobble Mountain Route: Round Pond XC Ski Trail, bushwhack, Cobble Crown Trail, (Cobble Mountain), Cobble Crown Trail, roadwalk With some time to spare, I headed up to Gunstock to check out the snowmaking and explore a wooded peak near the parking lot. Starting on the Round Pond cross country ski trail, I turned off it, bushwhacked through open woods, then up a rock slide up to the ridge. From there, I connected to the Cobble Crown Trail and to the wooded, viewless summit. After looking around at some old ski area remains, I followed the Cobble Crown Trail down to the access road, then back to the parking lot.
