Looking down the Cotton Mountain Trail Route: Cotton Mountain Trail With not too much time available, I decided to do a quick hike up Cotton Mountain. After jogging through the Novembery foliage down low, I hiked up the leaf covered steeps to the trailed summit of Cotton (the highpoint being on a higher knob west). From the near-summit viewpoint, I had decent views of Squam Lake and Red Hill. Taking my time on the steep descent, it started to sleet - winter's not far away!
