Route: Ski trails, snowmobile trail, bushwhack, (Moose Mountain)

While the visible ski trails have melted out a bit, there's still plenty of snow on the hill. I put on snowshoes at the bottom and ascended an old T-Bar line (snow in the shade), then cut over to the double chairlift line (some bare ground in the middle, but snow on the sides) to the top of the ski area. From there, I followed the snowmobile trail up to near the height of land (some bare spots in the middle, but enough snow to get up the sides at the moment), then started bushwhacking.

Snowshoes were a must for the bushwhack, as there was a solid foot of spring snowpack. The woods on the ridge are generally open (apart from an area of sapplings on the east side of the false summit), but the last ascent to the summit is pretty steep (have to find a way around cliffs/ledges).

Very nice southern views from the ledges near the highpoint. More fantastic, though, were the views from the snowmobile trail and ski trails - draw dropping looks at the Presidentials, Sandwich Range, etc.

On the whole, conditions were decent for snowshoeing, but this side will get sloppy pretty soon.
