The Old Mountain Road
Route: Old Mountain Road, Crawford-Ridgepole Trail, (Mt. Livermore), Crawford-Ridgepole Trail, Old Mountain Road
Cold temperatures have frozen the Old Mountain Road runoff into long stretches of blue ice. Remaining snow has also set up in a hard, slippery state. Maybe 30% of the ground was otherwise bare...enough for me to leave my Microspikes in my pack while constantly thinking about putting them on. Trails here could use a good base building snow storm.
