Looking up the trail to Great Hill
The initial plan was to get out of work early and go snowshoe something maybe 3 miles roundtrip. Doesn't always work out that way, however. Thus, I went with a quick local option.
Great Hill appears to be a good go-to place after a snowstorm if one is looking for minimal effort. The parking area is consistently plowed and the trails groomed/packed.
The hike was particularly nice because, along with the blue sky, there was still snow in the trees from the previous day's storm.
The views from the fire tower were excellent as usual - and neat, as there were clouds hanging below the Sandwich Dome, Mt. Whiteface, and Mt. Chocorua. I couldn't help but loiter and look at the views, as well as try to clear the snow off the stairs with my boots.
