Looking up the trail to Great Hill
On my way south, I decided to stop at Great Hill for a quick sunset hike. Since the main route to the summit is groomed for snowmobile use, I was able to bareboot up to the firetower without any issue. Going without a backpack or snowshoes, it was especially easy going. My first time hiking without my foot taped in quite some time, there was some discomfort, but nothing too bad.
The sunset was a decent one - lots of yellows in the sky as the sun set just to the south of Mt. Israel. In addition, there was a nice pink/purple tint to the east. While I was tempted to wait for the near-full moonrise, I had to get going. Nonetheless, another nice sunset hike on Great Hill!
