Looking down the Signal Ridge Trail
Route: Signal Ridge Trail
The forecast called for the development of a mostly sunny day. The full cloud cover and wet ground seemed to be in conflict with that forecast.
Nonetheless, a large group of canines set off for Mt. Carrigain. The trail was quite wet and the water crossings slightly tricky. The foliage, however, was quite nice down in the lower elevations.
As we ascended, we entered the fog. Reaching Signal Ridge, there was rather limited visibility. Spending nearly an hour on the cold, windy summit, the fog never lifted - a shame, as the foliage in the valleys would have been a superb sight. Nonetheless, it was nice to get out on the trails.
