The Old Mountain Road

Cold temperatures have frozen the Old Mountain Road runoff into long stretches of blue ice. Remaining snow has also set up in a hard, slippery state. Maybe 30% of the ground was otherwise bare...enough for me to leave my Microspikes in my pack while constantly thinking about putting them on. Trails here could use a good base building snow storm.

Directions to trailhead: From Route 25 in Holderness, take Route 175 northwest, then take a right onto Perch Pond Road. Take a right onto Mountain Road. At the end of the maintained road, there is room to park at the turnaround. Continue on foot up the road.
