Route: Rattle River Trail, Kenduskeag Trail, Carter-Moriah Trail, (Mt. Moriah), Carter-Moriah Trail, Kenduskeag Trail, Rattle River Trail

Having never hiked the Rattle River Trail before, I decided to give it a go.

The trail was fairly gradual past the shelter with halfway decent footing. The first water crossing was tricky to follow (a prominent path continued left and red blazes made the crossing itself less than obvious), however thereafter the navigation was easy.

The trail steepened later on, eventually climbing up to the ridge to the Kenduskeag Trail.

After an extended break on Moriah (a new V slide was visible on the back of Middle Carter, courtesy the hurricane), I headed down and removed some blowdowns on the Rattle River Trail.
