Rogers Ledge
Stark, NH, Kilkenny, NH
Trailheads, measurements, times, distances, and maps are all approximate and relative to the hike(s) as shown below.
The Kilkenny Ridge Trail
Route:Kilkenny Ridge Trail, Devil's Hopyard Trail
Trails were generally dry, though there were some damp and muddy areas from the recent rain. Hiked from South Pond to the height of land on Unknown Pond ridge and back.
Pretty gradual walk from the pond to Rogers Ledge. Footing was often good, aside from a few muddy and rocky areas.
A bit muddy in places from Kilback Pond to Unknown Pond ridge. Also a few potentially confusing places navigationally speaking, due to lack of use and blazing.
Devil's Hopyard was rugged with lots of very slippery rocks.

Directions to trailhead: From Groveton, then take Route 110 East past Stark. Eventually, take a right onto South Pond Road. A few minutes up that road, bear right to head to the South Pond Recreation Area. The area is generally open, in season, from 10 AM until 8 PM. If only hiking, one can generally enter without paying a fee. The Kilkenny Ridge Trail starts near the south side of the beach.
