Bear Mountain
Salisbury, CT

Bear Mountain, as seen from Round Mountain

Summary
At 2,316 feet, Bear Mountain is the highest peak in Connecticut. It is not, however, the highest point in Connecticut - see south slope of Mt. Frissell for that title.

A large pile of rocks stands on its summit, remnants from an observation tower built on the then-thought highest point in the state.
