Located northeast of Mt. Nancy, Mt. Bemis once featured a wooden fire tower on subpeak near its summit. While the true summit is wooded and viewless, there are viewpoints along the abandoned Mt. Bemis Trail, as well as a slight view near the former fire tower.

The remains of the former Mt. Bemis wooden fire tower, as well as the communications wire leading to it, can still be seen on the subpeak of Mt. Bemis.

The abandoned Mt. Bemis Trail runs from the Nancy Pond Trail to the former-fire-tower subpeak of Mt. Bemis.
