Old Speck Mountain
Grafton, ME
Trailheads, measurements, times, distances, and maps are all approximate and relative to the hike(s) as shown below.
The Eyebrow Trail
Route: Old Speck Trail, Eyebrow Trail, Old Speck Trail, (Old Speck Mountain), Old Speck Trail
Majority of trails were wet below about 3,500 feet due to undercast and previous week of rain. Wet and slippery ledges on both trails (including some no fall zones on the Eyebrow Trail). Mud and puddles generally hoppable/avoidable. Patchy snow starts perhaps around 3,000 feet and continues to the summit, but no particularly long or tedious stretches. Some ice monorail as well, but everyone out today was able to bareboot it. Should be minimal by next weekend.
Nice undercast views from fire tower.
