Old Speck Mountain, located in the Grafton Notch area, is part of the New England 4,000 footer list. The summit, located near the Appalachian Trail, features a lookout tower accessible by a ladder. There is also a directional view from the ground. Once known as Speckled Mountain, the name was shortened, as to avoid confusion with the Speckled Mountain near Evans Notch.
