Bald Ledge
New Hampton, NH
Trailheads, measurements, times, distances, and maps are all approximate and relative to the hike(s) as shown below.
The Bald Ledge Trail
Route: Bald Ledge Trail
Probably about 2-6" of snowpack - 2" of that is powder, while the rest is frozen hardpack. First third of the hike was a little bit rough with awkward footing from barebooting and subsequent deep freeze. Some of that on the second third, however the last third (the actual trail portion) was smoother. No need for traction. Snowshoes could be used (not required), though it looks like the preferred method right now is on skis.
First walk since tearing my achilles five weeks ago. Steps/stairs are still a challenge, so a gradual walk like this one was ideal (except for the uneven footing).
