Heading up the High Watch Trail to the Green Mountain summit
Route: High Watch Trail
After a few days of rain, I was finally able to get out on the trails again. With clouds approaching from the south and west, I decided to head east and do a somewhat quick climb up Green Mountain.
For the most part, the trail was dry - a few patches of snow and mud, but nothing the Fonz couldn't jump. With the exception of two short steep parts, the hike on the High Watch Trail is easy to moderate in pitch.
The views from the deck of the summit fire tower were excellent - the Belknaps, Ossipee Mountains, Whites (southern and Presidential), and smaller Maine peaks all visible.

Directions to trailhead: Take Green Mountain Road from Route 25 to High Watch Road (there will be a small 'Fire Tower' sign). At the end of this road, there will be a class four road sign. The trailhead is shortly after this on the right.
