Looking at the communication tower near Pocumtuck Rock from the old Deerfield Academy ski area Summary The Pocumtuck Range (not to be confused with Pocumtuck Mountain in Heath) is located in Deerfield, MA. It once featured two alpine ski areas (Eaglebrook still has an active one on the west face, Deerfield Academy had one on the east face). It was also once rumored to have a massive indian fort during the times of the settling of Deerfield, however no conclusive remains have been found to this date. The highest elevation on the range is Pocumtuck Rock, which can be reached on foot, by bike, or frequently by vehicle if the gate is open. Summit Facilities None.
